Last week Forbes magazine released it's fourth biennial ranking of business schools (and made it extremely difficult to find on Forbes.com). In the updated rankings for 2005, Virginia (Darden) was ranked 8th, moving up two spots from 2003 and up five spots from 2001. The Forbes ranking are based on "return on investment--meaning compensation five years after graduation minus tuition and the forgone salary during school".
In other Darden news, new dean Bob Bruner was featured in a Business Week online video interview. When asked, Bruner explained that his one year appointment was a result of an inability to find an external finalist and that at UVA President John Casteen's direction, the search for an external permanent dean will continue.
