With a baby on the way I've been busy with home improvement projects so that our apartment is fully ready for our little one. Of all these projects the biggest was the remodeling of our guest bathroom. It's a small bathroom that needed mostly cosmetic work so we figured we could do it ourselves without a contractor and set a goal to do it for under $1,000.
We realized soon that to stay under budget we'd have to buy an off-the-shelf vanity and sink from Home Depot or Lowe's - even the semi-custom pieces would have been too pricey. We were able to find everything we needed at Lowe's, Home Depot and HD's sister store Home Expo.
Here's what everything cost:
|Toilet paper holder||$31.99|
|Toilet flush lever||$10.00|
It was a lot of work and took me a number of weekends complete but it was incredibly rewarding when it was done because it came out looking great - and we stayed under budget.
